I'm a senior studying Communication with a Media Concentration at NC State. I also am finishing up an Entrepreneurship Minor this semester. I am from Raleigh, and have lived here my whole life. I do spend a lot of time on the road.
I'm a musician. I play guitar for Jacoozy, my band. We play a lot of different genres, such as jam and funk. We formed in Boone in July 2021 and have been playing pretty regularly since. My own personal music interests are blues and emo.
I was also in an NC State based soul and funk band called Friendly Reminder.
Outside of music, my academic interests involve writing. I love to write for almost any type of prompt, and rhetoric interests me a lot. I see it as a fun challenge to take information and display it in a way that will make sense to a personified group of people. This past semester I have come to love graphic design, and the challenge of making this website personalized in both content and design was very rewarding. I decided to capture my three main endeavors, which are my passion for music, my academic skills, and my interest in "nerd culture" (things like anime and Star Wars).
In my spare time outside of music, I enjoy nerding out over a lot of stuff. As for most types of media, I have to know everything about everything. This means that while I can go all in on some things like Star Wars, I try to learn a lot about all types of shows, films, books, so that I can reference them in music or conversation. I really wanted to have that refelcted in the website design, so I'll break that down. Currently, I am immersing myself in the Dune universe, hence the most common font choice. I also am a huge fan of Star Wars, and will play bits from the soundtrack over longer jams with my band.
I'm also a huge fan of anime and manga. I started with Naruto and Dragon Ball Z in middle school, but have since then fell in love with the medium. I love watching old shows from the 90's and exploring them as cultural artifacts, as well as watching newer shows to see how the animation has evolved. I love the aesthetic to certain shows, such as Jujutsu Kaisen. I have overlayed a screen cap from the show as the background for this page.
